Kikuyu is a popular lawn for both domestic and commercial use, due to it’s excellent durability. Kikuyu originated in Africa, and is a rich dark green vigorous lawn that holds its colour through most climatic conditions. It is favoured by most local Councils due to its high wear and ability to recuperate from heavy traffic.
Characteristics of Kikuyu

Extremely drought tolerant due to it’s massive underground rhizome and root system.
Recovers rapidly from wear and tear.
Soft to touch, great for country properties with horses.
Frost hardy
Sunlight Requirement: 4 hours per day
Watering once established: 10mm per watering session twice per week
Mowing Height: 12-14mm throughout all seasons, preferably with a sharp reel mower
